Check of serviceability of functioning, removal and installation of electric switches and sensors of system of cooling

The thermosensitive sensor switch of the fan of system of cooling (model without To/in)

Check

The description of check of serviceability of functioning of the sensor switch is provided in the section Check of serviceability of functioning, removal and fan installation (ов) cooling systems.

Removal

Fresh hermetic / a new sealing ring is required.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The sensor switch is located at the left or on the right on a radiator (depending on model). Before starting removal of the sensor switch wait complete cooling of the engine.
2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
3. Partially empty cooling system (address to Head Routine maintenance), having lowered level of cooling liquid is lower than level of position of the sensor switch. Alternatively, prepare a suitable stopper for an opening zaglushivaniye from under the sensor switch (act extremely carefully, trying not to damage a radiator and not to allow hit in the heat exchanger of extraneous subjects).
4. Disconnect from the sensor switch electroconducting.
5. Accurately turn out the sensor switch from a radiator, at the corresponding complete set remove a sealing ring. If cooling liquid from system did not merge, закупорьте an opening under sensor switch installation.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If for consolidation of landing of the sensor switch hermetic was used, carefully clean a carving part of assembly and grease it with fresh pressurizing structure.
2. When using a sealing ring, do not forget to replace it at installation.
3. Installation is made upside-down. Tighten the sensor switch and add in cooling system necessary amount of cooling liquid (address to Head Routine maintenance).
4. In summary start the engine, warm up it to normal working temperature and make sure of serviceability of operation of the fan of system of cooling.

Operation of fans of system of cooling the BITRON sensor (see below in this section) operates.

Sensor of a measuring instrument of temperature / датчик-выключатель control lamp of temperature

Check

On the models equipped To/in the sensor develops only a signal submitted on a measuring instrument of temperature. Management of operation of a control lamp carries out the temperature BITRON sensor (see below).


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Location of the sensor depends on car model:
   a) On petrol models the sensor will screw in a back part of a casing of the thermostat located at the left on the engine;
   b) On diesel models without To/in the sensor is in the right forward corner of assembly of a fuel filter/casing of the thermostat;
   c) On diesel models with To/in it is located in the left forward corner of a casing of the thermostat.
The sensor is easy for identifying on the socket of dark blue color.

2. On a temperature measuring instrument (if that is provided) the stabilized food from an instrument guard (via the switch of ignition and a safety lock) moves. The contour of grounding of a measuring instrument is supervised by the separate sensor in which basis of a design the termistor (the electronic element which resistance changes in inverse proportion to temperature change is put. At the cold engine resistance of the sensor is rather great and a current passing through a measuring instrument, respectively, is low. In process of temperature increase, resistance of the sensor falls also force of a current passing through a measuring instrument increases. The faulty sensor is subject to replacement.
3. If the control lamp of temperature enters into a complete set of the car, a food on it moves from an instrument guard. The special sensor switch which is becoming isolated at a warming up to some certain temperature is switched on in a contour of grounding. If the control lamp is established in addition to a temperature measuring instrument, its sensor switch is usually incorporated with the measuring instrument sensor in the uniform block to which two wires of a food are brought. On the models equipped To/in a control lamp copes the BITRON sensor (see below).
4. At refusal of a measuring instrument of temperature first of all check serviceability of functioning of the other equipment of an instrument guard. If devices do not function at all, or their indications are unstable, the cause of infringement can lie in refusal of a voltage stabilizer which it is necessary to replace in this case (a voltage stabilizer is built in a payment of a combination of devices - address to Head Onboard electric equipment). If serviceability of functioning only one measuring instrument is broken, act as it is described below.
5. If the arrow of a measuring instrument constantly remains at the beginning jackals (even after engine warming up), disconnect from the sensor эк and earth the corresponding wire on mass of a head of cylinders. If the arrow deviates at ignition inclusion, the sensor is faulty and is subject to replacement, otherwise remove a combination of devices (address to Head Onboard electric equipment) and check on conductivity existence an electroconducting site between the sensor and a measuring instrument. Also check serviceability of giving of a food on a measuring instrument. If conductivity takes place, it is necessary to replace a measuring instrument.
6. If the arrow constantly is in the right part of a measuring scale, disconnect from the sensor electroconducting. If at a detachment of electroconducting of the shooter comes back to a starting position (at the included ignition), it is necessary to replace the sensor. Otherwise it is necessary to check a condition of the rest of a chain (see above).
7. The same principle is based on check of serviceability of functioning of a control lamp. The lamp should light up when grounding the corresponding wire of a chain.

Procedure is similar described above for the thermosensitive sensor switch of the fan of system of cooling. On some models access to the sensor is extremely limited and demands dismantle of stirring components.

The sensor of temperature of BITRON (model with To/in)

Check

1. The sensor is a part of a control system of functioning of the conditioner of BITRON air (see. Air central air - the general information and precautionary measures). It is necessary to charge performance of check of the sensor to specialists of car-care center.

Removal and installation

1. The sensor will screw in a thermostat casing, in turn pribolchenny to the left end face of a head of cylinders. The sensor is easy for identifying on the socket of brown color.
2. Procedure of dismantle of the sensor is similar described above for the thermosensitive sensor switch of the fan of system of cooling. On some models access to the sensor is extremely limited and demands dismantle of stirring components.

The sensor of temperature of cooling liquid (model with fuel injection)

1. The sensor of temperature of cooling liquid of system of injection of fuel also will screw in a casing of the thermostat and differs the socket of dark blue or green color.
2. The sensor represents a termistor (see above subsection "The sensor of a measuring instrument of temperature / датчик-выключатель a control lamp of temperature - Check" item 2). The electronic control unit (ECU) of system of injection/engine management gives out basic tension on the sensor and by size of force of a current proceeding through the sensor determines the current temperature of the engine. Received information is used then along with other entering signals for determination of necessary duration of opening of injectors. On some models the temperature is considered also at installation of turns of idling and a corner of an advancing of ignition.
3. At violation of serviceability of functioning of the ECU sensor passes to a mode of the closed functioning, using instead of false signals developed by the sensor some average value providing adequate efficiency of return of the engine at its certain decrease. On an instrument guard the control lamp and the car in that case lights up it is necessary to drive away on car repair shop. Diagnostics of the sensor demands use of the special electronic equipment and is connected with risk of damage of ECU.
