Air central air - the general information and precautionary measures

General information

Air central air (To/in) enters into a standard complete set of all models of a representation class, and also, as an additional complete set, can be established on any other models. The system allows to reduce temperature of air submitted to salon, and also to make its drainage that considerably increases comfort of stay in the car of the driver and passengers.

In a cooling mode To/in the household refrigerator works by the same principle, as. The gaseous coolant is soaked up in the compressor working from a belt drive, then arrives in the condenser established before a radiator where gives the heat, passing to a liquid phase. Further, the liquid coolant via the broad valve arrives in the evaporator where from the liquid which was under a high pressure turns into the rarefied gas. This phase transition is accompanied by sharp temperature drop and, respectively, evaporator cooling. Then the coolant comes back to the compressor and a cycle repeats.

Air blown through the evaporator is cooled and arrives in air distributor assembly where by mixing with the hot air arriving from the heat exchanger of a heater, it is given temperature set at the choice of the operator. The received mix of air of the demanded temperature moves in car salon.

In case of need heating of air in salon the system works as a usual heater at models of a standard complete set (see. System of heating/ventilation of salon - the general information).

Management of system is carried out by electronics of the BITRON control unit which is carrying out control over functioning of the electric fan (ов) of system of cooling, the To/in compressor and the control lamp built in in the dashboard. In case of violation of serviceability of functioning of system it is necessary to address in a special workshop or firm service center of the Citroёn company.

Precautionary measures

At service of any components of a refrigerator path of central air of air it is necessary to observe special precautionary measures. The same concerns the procedures connected with need of a rassoyedineniye of lines of a refrigerator path.

As a working body in central air of air of the car the liquid coolant (freon) can be used. Freon as chemical, it is potentially dangerous, and therefore, can be allowed to the treatment of him only the qualified expert. Coolant hit in contact to open sites of skin can cause their deep frostbite. In itself freon is not poisonous, however at contact to open fire forms highly toxic gas therefore inhalation of gaseous freon through the lit cigaret can lead to the most serious consequences. Besides, freon hit in the atmosphere causes a significant damage to environment in view of irreversible destruction of an ozone layer.


If there are suspicions on decrease in level of a coolant in air central air, it is necessary to stop its further use as it is fraught with compressor failure.
