Shift a cranked shaft for all length of its course towards a flywheel / a driving disk, then shchupy measure gap size between a cheek of the second crank and a face surface of a persistent washer.

1. Wash out a cranked shaft in kerosene or other suitable solvent, then dry it, it is preferable with application of the compressed air. Make sure of absoluteness of purity of oil openings, check their passableness. In case of need use a rod brush or the special adaptation for pro-cleaning of pipes.

When using the compressed air do not forget to put on goggles!

2. Check radical and shatunny necks of a shaft on existence of cracks, задиров, deep scratches, cavities and signs of non-uniform wear.
3. A sign of wear of necks of shatunny bearings is the distinct metal knock published at operation of the engine and especially appreciable on small turns. Besides, wear of shatunny bearings is usually accompanied by oil pressure decrease.
4. The gnash and strong vibrations of the engine usually testifies to wear of radical bearings at its work, amplifying in process of increase of turns. Pressure of oil also falls a little.
5. To the touch estimate smoothness of working surfaces of necks of a shaft. Existence of a roughness speaks about wear of bearings and points to need of performance of a pro-point of a shaft or its replacement.
6. Check edges of oil openings of a shaft on existence of agnails (usually openings slightly раззинкованы, and therefore, this sort of problem arises usually only at inaccurate performance of a pro-point of necks). In case of detection of wear of necks leaving out of admissible limits the shaft, besides, is subject to a pro-point or replacement (consult with specialists of car-care center).

8. Check a condition of surfaces of both pins of a cranked shaft contacting to epiploons. Existence of defects can lead to failure of new epiploons. There are ways of restoration of sealing surfaces of pins, - consult at car repair shop. In case of impossibility of carrying out regenerative repair the shaft is subject to replacement.
9. At the moment of drawing up of the real Management information on release by the Citroёn company of loose leaves of bearings of the repair sizes for each of types was absent. On models for which such loose leaves are issued, the shaft can be in case of need pierced, and loose leaves of bearings are replaced new, the corresponding repair size (see. If possibility in acquisition of repair loose leaves is absent, the shaft in case of wear of his necks below an admissible limit is subject to replacement.
