All petrol Citroёn Xantia models with the distributed injection of fuel are designed for operation on gasolines with octane number not below AI 95 (RON). It is necessary to notice, what not all models are equipped with the catalytic converter (an exception models of 1.8 l with the L6A engine and models of 2.0 l with the R6D engine make). It is necessary to fill the models equipped with the converter with only unleaded fuel, otherwise, existence in fuel of lead will lead to an irreversible exit of the catalyst out of operation.
Unleaded gasoline of the SUPER brand (with octane number 98) also suits filling of all models though it and does not offer appreciable advantage.
