Check of a condition of the storage battery

Do not forget about need of observance of special precautionary measures at service of the storage battery! Remember danger of receiving electric shock, short circuit, hit in eyes, on skin and the painted surfaces of body panels of chemically aggressive electrolit!


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make sure of serviceability of a condition of the pallet of the battery. Check reliability of fixing of the battery on the pallet a clamping level. Corrosion traces from the pallet, a clamping level and the case of the battery can be removed by means of solution of baking soda. On termination of processing, carefully rinse the processed surfaces with pure water. The metal surfaces damaged by corrosion should be covered with a special first coat on a zinc basis, and then are painted.

2. Regularly (approximately time in three months) check level of a charge of the battery (see. Start and charge systems).

3. In case of a battery podsadka start of the engine can be carried out from the external power supply (see above).

Decrease in corrosion of plugs and terminal clips is promoted by processing by their acid-free vaseline.

4. The battery is located in the left part of an impellent compartment of the car. External survey of the battery on existence of cracks and other damages of a case/cover should be made regularly.

5. Check guaranteeing quality of electric contact reliability of a tightening of terminal clips of wires of the battery (And). Clips should not be turned freely on polar plugs of the battery. In parallel check a condition of isolation of wires (In).

6. At identification on polar plugs of traces of development of corrosion in the form of poroshkoobrazny deposits of white color remove from plugs clips and carefully smooth out the damaged surfaces a rigid brush. Establish clips on a place and strongly tighten them.

In shops of automobile accessories it is possible to get special adaptations for cleaning of plugs of the battery (it is shown in a picture).

7. Also special rigid brushes for cleaning of internal surfaces of terminal clips are issued.
